Well a new year has started. The only real resolution I made was for this year to be better then the last. So far so good. I spent new years with my friends Markand Kristen and their adorable daughter Hannah. Hannah is going to have a sibling soon and that kid is going to have to be awfully cute to beat out Hannah. Either way a good time was had, I learned a new card game and got to see my favorite child.

I left Philadelphia and made the day and a half trek to Florida. I made it 2/3 of the way the first day, stayed at a motel in northeastern alabama then made it to my dads by 2pm est on Friday the 2nd. He wasn’t as surprised as I thought he would be to see me. I think he might have figured something out somehow.

The weather here is great. Its been at least 70 everyday. I have run, walked or biked every single day and will continue to while I am here. My dad paid for me to join his gym so after a few days off while at marks and traveling I am back into my routine. His gym doesn’t have a lot fo equipment but their is never anyone their. They have an outdoor pool with this big tent like thing over it. I’m going to try and swim at least 4 days a week. Got a swimming challenge going with my buddy Nate, first one to 20 miles. Another person going down. Hey Nate, call Mark and my buddy Chuck, ask them what happened when they went one on one with the great one.

The diet is going excellent. My dad bought me a Foreman my first day here. Its not as fancy as the one at home butI never use the timer anyways. It does what I need it to do. I am hoping to be below 330 by the time I go home but I am not sure if I will be or not.

So things in my life are going pretty well. We lost power for 4 days so I missed 3 days at the gym but life is going well. We are in the middle of a snow storm. It started Friday and hasn’t stopped yet. Thank god we have a plow guy.

The gym is going great. I am doing plenty of cardio and lifting feels wonderful. I’ve added clean and press’s into my shoulder routine and their my new favorite exercise. I won my biking challenge and am kicking ass in my walking challenge. If things go according to plan i’ll be done sometime this week. If anyone wants to start a challenge let me know I am open to try almost anything.

Going to Florida in a few weeks. When I am their I will be able to walk and bike outside. That should give me more time everyday to train more. I am sick of the snow and driving to the gym to walk. Florida will be a great change.

I bought a gps for my car, a magellan 4050 for my trip to Florida, I bought a mount for the Iphone for the car, I bought a wrist gps for walking and biking, I also got an ezpass to save time at toll plazas. I went a little toy crazy for christmas. You can check out the pics of my new stuff on my flickr page.

The diet is still crystal clean. We got our second side of beef yesterday. My flickr page has a great picture of the rib roast I will be cooking soon. I am somewhere in the 360’s if the gym scale is accurate. Until I get below 350 I won’t have another scale to verify it. So it might be a while before I start posting my weight.

When I first started going to the gym I would swim everyday. Sometimes two times a day. On certain evenings their was an aqua aerobics class going on at the same time. I never paid much attention to it, I just swam and did my thing. When I got to the gym tonight a lady came up to me and asked me if I’d had surgery. I was puzzled at first and I am sure she could tell that by my “uh what” expression. She then clarified and asked if I’d had my stomach stapled. She was shocked I’d lost so much weight so fast. I told her no and thanked her very much for the compliment as I walked to the courts with a huge smile on my face.

Now I must honestly say, I did contemplate surgery on more then one occasion. When I was in Florida last year my dad asked me about it a bunch. There were commercials on tv for a local hospital doing it and I thought how easy it would be. I know others that have done it with great success. Then I realised I never could do it. It’d feel like cheating. For me it’s like someone else did the work, why should I reap the benefits? If you got it and it worked for you, I am very happy for you. For me, its the easy way out and at this point in my life, its not what i needed.

The weight is still coming off, I’m around 140 pounds heavier (if the scale is right) from my all time low. I won’t make it that low by the J-athlon but I’ll be in the ballpark. I am eating great and exercising like a mad man. Going two or three times a day on work days. I rode 80.1 miles on the bike Monday and finished the 250 mile challenge up on Tuesday. I am now focusing on the 100 mile challenge by foot with Mark. I need to push hard, and I believe I can win it. I will win it.

I bought a GPS for my car last week, a magellan 4050. It seems pretty cool so far. I am hoping it helps me get to Mark’s without almost driving to Albany next time. I also bought a watch. If you know me, you know i don’t wear watches. I smacked the crap out of my wrists, but I think it will be good to wear with nicer clothes when I get closer to goal weight. A little more grown up is all.

I’ve had quite a long weekend. I spent the majority of it working out. All in total I walked 6.3 miles, biked 19.4 miles, lifted twice and played racquetball for just under an hour. It was a very good weekend for exercise and relaxation. I didn’t over do it but I sure as hell could see the line. Lets hope I can keep this up. I have two challenges to win and plan on winning both.

I’ve bought a few new toys lately. I bought an Iphone last week. Its an 8gb 3 G Iphone and its pretty cool. It really keeps the internet at my fingertips almost everywhere I am (cept the gym, though sometimes I get a signal). I ordered a case and a bluetooth headset to go with them. They will hopefully be here early this week.

Today I bought a watch. I don’t usually use watches but new Jason wants a watch to go with the better clothes he will buy next spring/summer. This was silver and gold and looked pretty classy in the pic online. I’m still looking to buy a Wii and a new tv, although the tv will come first. Waiting for the right deal.

Ingredients.

1 3 to 5 pound boston pork butt

1 cup tomato puree ( you cna use paste but it is higher carbs)

2 tsp’s of worchestire sauce

1 tsp of liquid smoke

1 packet of splenda

Mix the tomato puree, smoke, worchestire and splenda in a bowl. Add more splenda for a tangier flavor, more smoke for a smokier burnt flavor.

Place pork in corck pot, cover pork with sauce, cook on low for 8 hours. At the end of 8 hours take the pork out, rip it to shreds ( I used a cutting board and a steak knife and it basically fell apart) . Place pork back in crock pot and leave on warm for one hour. This will have the pork absorb all of the juices.

Serve and eat ( Veno used a low carb wrap)

I went and saw Twilight yesterday. If you know me you know by now you know how into the series I am. I thought the movie was excellent. They did not stray from the book much and most of the characters were perfect. Bella, Edward, Alice, Charlie, Emmett and Jasper were absolutely incredible. Rosalie wasn’t bad but she just wasn’t as beautifal as the book required. Carlysle just didn’t do it for me, he reminded me more of a blond Mike Dexter then an eternal vampire with amazing self control. I loved the movie and will probably go see it again.

The diet is going great. I’m doing quite well with the cravings. The cow resources are getting low. The turkey I cooked turned out great. With Thanksgiving coming up msot people I know on the diet plan on going off. Not me. Also I don’t call it cheating when you plan on going off. Cheating is when just go off for a craving. I hope the guys who are taking a few days off (a week is not a few days chuck) can easily get back on and don’t do a ton of damage.

I am now involved in a running/walking challenge as well as a biking challenge. The running challenge is for 100 miles, the biking is 250. I have to push hard to win both but I have faith I can do it. I even went and bought a balaclava for walking in the am when its so cold. Though its always so cold now.

I like to threaten people with a punch to the nuts. Its mostly just annoying banter but I use it a lot. Today Atkns dude and I were talking and he has a friend about to start atkins. I explained how he wasn’t responsible for his friend like I am for him. He responded with “There were a few times when the thought of a good and hearty nut-pinch from Jason kept me on the straight and narrow.” Now he didn’t mean to say nut pinch but god damn that was funny.

The diet is going great. I’m sticking to plan without much temptation. I can honestly say I can handle this long term. I will go off plan for special occasions but other then that I can live bread/sugar and high carb free. I should have done this and stuck with this long ago.

I’m doing a walking/running challenge with my buddy Mark. First one to 100 miles gets a free dinner at Fogo De Chao in Philly. We were going to use nike+ to monitor but Nike + sucks ass. Instead I am using http://www.workoutdump.com, if you sign up let me know I can invite you to my group.

I should get some new pics sometime soon. I haven’t felt like I’ve lost a lot lately but I can see some folds getting smaller. We shall see.
